Bioethical education is best done in a balance of justice and relationships channeling both the works of Gilligan and Lawrence Kohlberg. By engaging with the people most affected by bioethics, those who are disabled, students are able to build empathy through case studies and thus make better informed ethical decisions. This project centers around a curriculum written  for high school students studying bioethics. A reading of the Old Testament Book of Esther advances a prospective shape for curriculum design.  Esther's actions and speeches are traced as one entry into a story world, proposing a means for students of this ministry context to gain appreciable hermeneutical skills via sensitivity to the genre's general components. To address this perceived need, the author's goal was to write a church history curriculum for the layperson. Research for the curriculum included both educational theory and historical study.  An analysis of two popular Bible study curriculums (Bethel and Kerygma) was also performed as part of the preliminary research.  The finished curriculum has fourteen lessons that cover the historical period of the apostolic church through the Protestant Reformation.
