Through critically engaging the Bible, the history of the systematic reading of scripture and discussion with pastors and lay persons, an addendum was formulated with suggested additions of feminine passages to the Revised Common Lectionary. Contemporary Christian loss of mythic, metaphorical thought patterns in favor of literal, rationalistic ways of thinking threatens the survival of the people of God and divests the Scriptures of their power to transform. The project uses secular story and biblical story in a 'sandwich' technique borrowed from the Gospel of Mark in order to restore an imaginative, metaphorical perspective to Christian consciousness so that biblical narrative can be reclaimed as story.
