Throughout Christian history, we can say that some sacrificial deaths, those that derive from love of both God and others, bear fruit. This study aims to examine how such deaths resulted in the expansion of Christian mission by surveying the legacies of four missionaries from four Presbyterian churches who died suddenly in the line of duty. Those missionaries are John W. Heron of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America, Lottie Witherspoon Bell of the Presbyterian Church of the United States, William J. McKenzie of the Presbyterian Church of Canada, and Joseph Henry Davies of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria, Australia.I will briefly ascertain the afore-mentioned missionaries' motivations for mission to Korea, and the process that carried them from the start to the end of their mission. Then, I will focus on the interplay between their deaths and their influence in both Korean Christianity and Western Christianities as a case study in World Christianity by investigating the activities of remaining family members, colleagues, natives, and their home churches. In order to clarify why their deaths had such a deep impact, I will particularly delve into the influence of deaths as a social phenomenon through the theology of premillennialism to which Western missionaries subscribed. This project focuses on the implementation of missional principles in a particular congregation to shift its narrative of decline to a narrative of revitalization. The report explores Second Presbyterian Church's historical identity leading to its period of decline, identifies missional principles, and then traces the narrative of the implementation of those principles within the congregation. Worship is one aspect of congregational life where the values of Western secular culture are deeply embedded; changing the expectations surrounding worship may be pivotal for the deeper transformation of congregational culture from an inward, institution-maintaining focus to an outward, missional orientation. This project is a case study of one congregation where such transformation is already underway. This will involve local churches taking a strong partnership role using various models. Large membership church leaders explained their vision and other missional church characteristics via factors, as identified by Hunsberger and Van Gelder, which led their churches in Grace Presbytery to inter into partnerships. The intial receptiveness of Grace church leaders was assessed after a PowerPoint presentation via questionaire. Factors are documented that led churches to enter into partnerships. Mission-minded, global Christians? Information for this research was gathered from students at Atlanta Christian College who participated on short-term mission trips. They were surveyed to determine how the trips influenced them. The research demonstrates that students who had already considered career missionary service found additional encouragement to pursue mission ministry. The research was made through personal interviews, personal meetings, leader's retreats, and new immigrant training; I was able to learn from immigrant members, immigrant leaders, governing body personnel, sessions and pastors of Anglo churches. Four areas were identified in this project that affect the life and mission of the church to become racially/ethnically inclusive: Cultural Challenges, Legal Challenges, Financial Challenges, and Theological Challenges. This project contends that Christian blessings can be given in a traditional Hawaiian form that would enable believers to connect with unchurched friends and neighbors and thereby proclaim the blessing that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was found that in the experience of the volunteers, giving blessing opens up deeper discussions with coworkers, friends and neighbors and that such discussions can and do lead to sharing the good news of God's blessing. A research survey was conducted with six organizing pastors of congregations started by the MAC within the last fifteen years.  The survey focused upon congregational perceptions and in particular what was important and driving the congregations at their inception.
