A quantitative research method (written surveys and focus group interviews) was used for this study. It was determined that influences shaping members' ideas of leadership include scripture, Stone-Campbell principles and practices, workplace experiences, and American political structures. The extent of thee influences varied according to a member's age, gender, and length of association with the Stone-Campbell movement. To obtain statistics thirty-seven adults participated in a six to ten week course entitled 'Decision Making God's Way' that focused on the doctrines of God's will and God's guidance in light of the scriptures. Results were obtained thru periodic testing to determine the impact of the course.
