Conflict between parents who educate children at home and those who do not often stems from pride and legalism in both parties. Churches that emphasize Christ-centered liberty in education choices and teach covenantal responsibilities of parents toward children experience fewer conflicts. The data was collected from sixty randomly selected ruling elders who answered the questionnaire.  It was discovered that there is a higher correlation between specific academic training and good performance than between life experiences and good performances.  One must not conclude that good academic training will cause outstanding elder performance. There may be a third factor influencing both.  A supplement to the study itself provides a theological framework for the raw data.
