The project seeks to determine the overall effectiveness of the curriculum in three key areas: grounding the community in understanding the significance of what it is to be “in Christ,” providing opportunities for small groups to cultivate a desire to both know and be known within the context of a trusted community, and finally to cultivate an environment wherein a burden of care is embraced and felt within said community.The research centers on qualitative interviews with participants in the Beta launch of the Community Foundations curriculum. The Beta launch occurred between Spring 2018 and Fall 2019. The first chapter is the introduction. The second chapter is the biblical research and literature research, which includes the biblical foundation, theological foundation, philosophical foundation and literature review of the education in family. The third chapter is the process and methods of the research, which is the core content of this thesis. This chapter contains the reasons, questions, hypotheses, methods of the research, as well as the evaluation and assessment tools, the processes and detailed reports of the research. The fourth chapter is the results and analysis of the research. This chapter is also the focus of the thesis. Las instituciones teológicas necesitan estar conscientes de la tendencia a la dicotomía entre el conocimiento teológico y la madurez espiritual en las facultades, y ante esta realidad deben buscar cómo implementar los factores que contribuyen a la integración entre ambos.Este proyecto doctoral, al reconocer la existencia de la dicotomía entre el conocimiento teológico y la madurez espiritual en las instituciones teológicas, planteó la siguiente pregunta de investigación: ¿Qué factores pudieran contribuir a la integración entre el conocimiento teológico y la madurez espiritual en la vida de la facultad de instituciones teológicas? Christian parents are to impress God's commands on their children so the next generation might come to know, love, and serve Him (Deut 6:6-7). Jesus charges the church to make disciples, baptize, and teach others to obey his commands (Matt 28:19-20), yet, spiritual formation is not the target it should be for most Christian families and the American church. The literature reveals a general lack in understanding of the biblical worldview in Christians across generations, and thus, believers lack confidence and motivation to share God’s worldview with others. This study sought to evaluate the effectiveness of a workshop designed to address transformation in the comprehension, commitment, and intended conduct of participants to train others to the biblical worldview. Statistical analysis revealed participants changed in understanding, confidence, and motivation toward engaging in further growth to the biblical worldview and training others to it. Anecdotal information gathered from comments on the post-training survey provided additional evidence of the above, as well as qualitative evidence demonstrating participants changed in their commitment to share God’s truth with others and planned for future change in this “commissioned” area for Christ.The workshop effectively addressed the lack of intentionality about growing in and sharing the biblical worldview with others. The results show participant's idea of the gospel did not change overall in relation to the kingdom of God. Each participant was given a likert scale measuring instrument before and after the course as well as an exit survey for comments and observations.  The hypothesis of this research project was that Discipleship for Leadership will prove to be a valuable tool in developing future leaders for Redeemer Bible Church. Yet many today neglect it.  This project provides one means of seeking to address this problem.  This research measured the value of training people to study the Bible, specifically whether developmental training in personal Bible study methods would improve student attitudes toward their personal Bible study.  It also measured whether the training would improve student habits in their personal Bible study. Following the development of the training course and the curriculum to be used, the research was designed to utilize a survey questionnaire constructed with a Likert-scale of response options.  It also included multiple-choice options, as well as reverse scored items.  The survey data were gathered for two class groups and a non-trained control group to increase the breadth of sample survey and comparison. The survey was used as a pre-test and post-test within the class groups, but only as a post-test with the control group.  Additional qualitative data were gathered through focus group feedback from each class group and instruments that utilized open-ended questions, specifically -- a Bible study inventory that was used as a pre-test and post-test and a self-reported post-course evaluation form.  This study found that the training was effective in improving the habits of Bible study for one class group.  It was also effective in improving student habits and skills of relating the Bible to one's life and world for one class group. A parent's training manual for teaching their children was written based on the Evangelical Free Church of America's doctrinal statement. Thirteen parents were recruited to test the manual with twenty-six children between the ages of five and twelve.  Each week's lesson included Bible study, Scripture memory and catechism memory work.
