While many have returned and will continue to return to the physical gathering, there is a remnant of people who will not make this transition. There are also others who visit church online but never make the transition from online viewer to physical member.The argument of this paper is predicated on the conviction that physical church gatherings are more spiritually advantageous than online gatherings. These specialists identified an association between pastoral leadership style, the presence of a compelling vision that identified how the church should look in the future and key actions that would result in the cessation of the decline and initiation of revitalization. The readers will discover that there is an association between the visionary leadership of the pastor and the principles used to impact at least eight different spheres of the ministry that have been entrusted to him. This dissertation defined “visionary leadership” as leadership that inspires people to change because of two things: the Senior Pastor’s model and message. The project will examine the role the of selected senior pastors and the impact of their visionary leadership on the revitalization of a declining church. The primary means of investigation and research in this project was the use of eight case studies of pastors, which will assess their leadership style and its impact on revitalization. Some of these pastors entered their churches more than twenty years ago, and some began three years ago. In each case, their churches have experienced marked growth after a period of decline. Fidelity: Discovering a Way that is Life-Giving introduced students to the Benedictine way of life, a way ordered around attentiveness to God, and the ancient discipline of abiding by a rule of life. Research results suggest that adult disciples who complete Fidelity grow in attentiveness. In order to evaluate the preaching manual, a program development and evaluation model of research was used. Surveys administered before and after reading the preaching manual found, with confidence, affirmation of two of the five hypotheses, which were reflected by the principles in the preaching manual. The hypotheses areas included: 1. Exposition, 2. Variety, 3. Clarity, 4. Frequency, and 5. Practicality. Senior pastors need the vision and compelling communication of the vision for a multiethnic church. They need a commitment to and the skill to empower leaders. And they need a system of assessing potential leaders that includes cultural IQ. Using the case study method, two senior pastors were interviewed who have a track record of multiplying leaders to grow their churches. The survey was administered to two groups in different cities in Tanzania, Africa, and to several groups from Northplace Church in Sachse, Texas. The examination is based on four different hypotheses administered through a descriptive survey of twenty-one questions. Hypothesis 1 investigates whether participation in a short-term mission trip increases activity in missions both locally and beyond. Hypothesis 2 considers whether participation in the short-term mission trip increases ministry involvement in the church through an increased awareness of other socio-economic groups and cultures. Hypothesis 3 determines whether participation in the short-term mission trip increases ministry involvement in the church through missions giving. Finally, Hypothesis 4 studies whether participation in a short-term mission trip increases ministry involvement in the church through an increased participation in spiritual formation.This research includes a literature review with respect to the purpose of missions with a focus on the short-term mission trip experience. Although each of these multiethnic churches have come to the same conclusion regarding the importance of being united and inclusive based on their biblical understanding of the New Testament, they have important differences in their strategies. Upon closer examination of each of these representative multiethnic churches, one finds variations because of differing motivations for doing multiethnic ministry. This study focuses on examining these variations.
