choose elder leadership. A survey was conducted of Alliance churches and their practice of training nominating committees which demonstrated that there was little or no training taking place. A training manual and video training tape was produced and implemented in three Alliance churches over a period of one year. A pre-test and post-test study was conducted to determine the program effectiveness. This tool is designed to measure the presence of maturity based upon ten traits in the life of the Christian. A biblical foundation for each of these traits is established from the gospels and epistles. The importance of integrating the meaning of spirituality, maturity and the Great Commission is discussed. The statistical testing demonstrated that questions did an adequate job measuring the internal reliability of six of the ten traits. The Ten Traits for a Lifetime can be an effective model for churches interested in becoming purpose driven around making disciples. A literature search from the gospels and other relevant sources, both ancient and contemporary, demonstrates this model. This model was designed and tested with adult ministry leaders. The categories of questions were derived from scripture and used in a fashion similar to that of the master teacher, Jesus. The result of the project is a model of interaction that is biblically supported, historically validated and experientially reliable. This model, when applied, enhances educational feedback and personal awareness and therefore leads to greater understanding. The value of learning is enhanced in all settings. The sample consisted of 257 domestic and foreign pastors surveyed anonymously by mail concerning 14 pastoral task areas and five Internet features. Two-thirds had access to the Internet, claiming e-mail and pornography as its greatest advantage and disadvantage, respectively. Survey results also revealed a surprising lack of discrepancy in generations of Internet users. Preferred web sites, time and tasks online, and Internet education comprised other topics analyzed. The critical balance between church and family in relation to God's kingdom was considered, with the conclusion that God's purpose for the family and the church should be observed through the lens of His kingdom program. A major goal of the project was to determine how the church could build stronger families, so the composition of a strong family was delineated. Healthy families were considered from a sociological and biblical viewpoint and six essential traits were presented as the benchmark for evaluating a church's ministry to families. A case study of Immanuel Bible Church was undertaken in order to learn more about how one church was ministering to families, thus providing a practical element to the research process. The goal is to do case study research on successful pastors in North America to determine if their leadership styles match an hypothesis which states that, 'An effective Christian leader is a servant leader who under the direction of the Holy Spirit maximizes strengths, minimizes limitations, and consistently grows in Christlike character in order to influence others to develop adn accomplish a common vision.' Appointed or elected leaders in churches affiliated with CBAmerica were participants. The Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (1974) was used in this study, measuring competing, collaborating, compromising, avoiding and accommodating conflict management styles. The biographical information sheet collected data relating to sex, age, length of Christian experience, length of church membership and length of leadership. The majority of leaders surveyed had been Christians for fifteen or more years. This group scored low in the competing mode, and high in the avoiding mode.
