The project began with a questionnaire concerning spiritual gifts and one's purpose in the church. Next, a three part sermon series on spiritual gifts was used to educate and inspire members to participate in the seminar. During the seminar, students took inventories to discover their spiritual gifts, passions, personality, and temperament types and completed a ministry resume form. Nine couples participated in a study designed to teach husbands and wives how to pray for each other in the context of daily life. The Intimacy Needs Survey (Bagarozzi, 2001) was used as the pretest-posttest instrument to measure changes in the couple's perception of intimacy. Analysis of the raw scores indicated 89 percent of the couples reported an average of 30 percent increase in intimacy. Results from the NEO-PI-R appear to support a null hypothesis. Results from Canfield's (1999) Calmness Questionnaire suggest that changes were slight. Methods: The author conducted a case study of the International Christian Fellowship of Caracas and a survey of forty-two other expatriate ministries in order to evaluate the missionary potential of international churches. Included is a theological and theoretical search for a model of expatriate ministry that can be used in outreach to indigenous peoples that leads to the planting of a national church. Therefore, lay people lacked confidence in teaching it and members were hesitant to receive teaching from someone not seminary trained.  A twelve-session teacher training seminar was conducted over four consecutive Sundays.  Five Filipino ethnic Chinese Episcopalian adults were trained and tested.  The responses of ten local church members to the trainees' teaching were also tested. The five trainees taught before and after the twelve-session seminar. Christian couples age 25-54, married 1.5-31 years, are assigned to concurrent groups for husbands and wives, while wives from the same sample are assigned to a group for women only.
