Korean scholars to date follow an old tradition which derives 'diakonos' from 'dia' (through) and 'konis' (dust.)  But this derivation is a case of confusion of 'diakonio' (pulvere, to in the dust) with 'diakoneo' (to serve.)  The author exegetes Acts 6 discussing the Grecian Jews, the Hebrews, and the Samaritans. The material emphasized history, doctrine, and polity.  It was designed for use by youth and adults in both group and independent study settings.  Research from the fields of documentary, creative, and objective studies was utilized in preparing the material.  The work was submitted to a panel of six judges from diverse backgrounds for evaluation. It describes the various stages of development of the program - research, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Exegesis of New Testament teachings and miracles concludes that spiritual healing is a proper subject for education.  The curriculum contains 13 two-hour lessons making substantial use of current theories of behavior affecting physical and mental health, integrated with biblical and theological insights.
