Preaching grace can lead congregations, even those that may be theologically conservative, to be motivated as individuals and corporately to experience the type of transformation that comes from God which is representative of redemptive change. The author of this paper argues that preaching can be a catalyst for moving a congregation from fear to joy. Preachers have the opportunity to proclaim the Word of God so that through the power of the Holy Spirit transformation occurs and faith is deepened. Pastors need to integrate preaching into their own Christian discipleship in order for preaching to have an impact on their congregation. Through this project I propose that preaching can enhance the Christian discipleship of the pastor through the use of Incarnational Exegesis, EPIC, Authentic and Integrated Preaching. Communication style was operationalized from literature on media (primary orality, print, electronic), hemispheric lateralization (left-brain), and the Myers-Briggs thinking/feeling temperaments.  Three communication styles were operationalized: discursive, presencursive, and presentational. Recent works on preaching were related to the styles.  The hypothesis: when the communication style of a preaching event resonates with that of the listener, a higher listener satisfaction is reported.  Three sermons were preached using the three communication styles, listener satisfaction ratings were secured, and a statistical analysis of style was computed. The conclusion: communication style preference and resonance do not influence listener satisfaction.
