This project predicts that by studying the scriptures and the liturgy for Holy Communion church members will develop a theology of table defined as an understanding of Holy Communion that arises out of a profound vision of who Jesus is, his sacrifice for humanity and his commandment to come to the table in remembrance of him. According to the Conference, the HCI will help churches rediscover God's mission for them to be witnesses in their communities. When churches have a holistic view of the gospel; it transforms lives and communities by God's grace. Although the basic ethos of the Korean people is exulted spirit, they cannot experience this in such worship.  To overcome this problem, a lively worship model, based on research on the theology and history of Christian worship, and on relevant aspects of Korean culture, was developed and utilized for three months in the Masan Bahn-seok Methodist Church.
