Undergirding this project are the psychological studies showing that children's representations of God are usually formed from internalized images of parents; these early images of God usually remain influential in a person's life.  The research was conducted by means of individual interviews with both oral questions and printed word-pairs regarding the participants' parents and their current and childhood God-images.  The data showed that the survivors' God-images generally did have characteristics similar to mothers.  The data also showed that generally the more severe the incest and the earlier the onset, the more negative the God-image of the survivor. It conceptualizes, implements and evaluates a vision of the role of the Korean immigrant church in the United States. The practicum included focused interviews and a questionnaire survey which was an effort to find, observe and identify the problems/needs of bilingual/cross-cultural ministry in the Korean immigrant church and community. To do this, three self-select groups (well-parented, dysfunctionally parented and reparented respondents) were all given a combination 'questionnaire-interview' (based primarily on the thinking of Kohut, Winnicott and Langs) and the MMPI.  Results were sought on seven specific MMPI scales.  Although the research hypotheses were not proved using these seven scales, several unhypothesized findings were worthwhile: there were correlations between the self-select group and overall health through general impressions of the whole of MMPI profiles looking at all the scales together. A methodology of in-depth interviews with three 'post-anorexic' (physically recovered) women was the foundation of this qualitative study.  A coding table linking shame, female identity, and the mother-daughter relationship allowed for quantification of the data. The results indicated deep shame around female identity, although the anorexia appeared more an effort to break free from a shame-bound self than a symbol of it. The methodology incorporated a two-item questionnaire, modified case studies, and follow-up interviews with four of the twenty-five participants.  The five categories from Women's Ways of Knowing by Belenky, et al, asessed each woman's level of individuation and differentiation. Six lay persons shared their vocational journeys in relation to work, lifestyle, and their calling in the Body of Christ.  They were prepared by classes, group meetings, and pastoral sermons and dialogue.  Evocative questions developed thinking about vocational meaning.  The project was grounded in biblical and ethical thought about vocation, psychological research in speech as commitment, and faith development through educational methodology. This project sought to carry out an experiment in caring ministry by training laypersons to care for the aged in the Donam community in Seoul, Korea. The results of pre- and posttests showed that the attitudes and beliefs of these laypersons regarding the nature and function of the church were significantly changed through participation in caring ministry. It is commonly viewed as a necessary evil for the survival of the church.  This project explores the role of the sermon in developing healthy stewardship awareness and practice by following the homiletical preparation of five pastors during the traditional fall stewardship campaign.  Reactions of the congregations are recorded through case studies which come from a small sharing group within each church.
