The author implemented three strategies in this project: first, initiating and developing an individualized coaching relationship; second, training three ministers to lead their leadership teams through a values-discovering; third, consulting with the ministers to use a values-based decision-making guide to evaluate future plans. To prepare for the project the author researched appropriate literature and developed training material to guide the project implementation. Two such men were provided with training and opportunity to lead and teach Cell Life Groups. Two Cell Groups were formed in high crime areas and those two groups met for six consecutive weeks with members of the community. Kin-life is that quality of relationships within a group that is characterized by commonality, unity, harmony, and a shared interest in the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of others.  The project trained thirteen individuals called ministry leaders to strengthen kin-life in adult Sunday School classes. Relationships are vital to any congregation and reflect the health of the congregation.  There are many ways that one might seek to understand relationships.  This project used the concept of relational needs that I call the 'TIM's' approach.  This concept was first introduced by Heinz Kohut.  The project consisted of class sessions as well as the selected leaders seeking to strengthen personal relationships within the fellowship known as First Baptist Church, Bloomfield. The understanding of relational needs provides lenses through which people can see others at a deeper level.
