It will show that public prayers based on preparation have a biblical foundation and can be very powerful in ministering to the listener.  Thus the prayer leader has a tremendous responsibility.  The necessity for sufficient preparation of public prayer as well as understanding the audience will be explained.  While benefits to the corporate membership can be derived through effective public prayers, the prayer leader, himself, will be a special beneficiary. The training consisted of a weekend prayer retreat and a ten-week support group.  Each participant took the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and learned about their psychological type. Participants then learned four different types of prayer as taught in Prayer and Temperament: Different Prayer Forms of Different Personality Types by Chester P Michael and Marie C Norrisey.
