The project consisted of seven sessions with guest speakers presenting the information regarding the area of expertise which address issues of domestic violence.  The author addressed the role of the pastor in preaching and teaching about domestic violence. The Crestview Baptist Church was not enjoying meaningful worship.  A project was designed to effect change in worship which sought to provide meaningful worship within the context of change and departure from the historical practice of the church.  The author employed a worship committee, teaching and preaching opportunities, opinion surveys, worship planning sessions and worship service implementation to effect change in worship. It produces unique problems for Protestant chaplains who have an earnest desire to enlist service men and women for discipleship training.  The ministry project included a twelve-week workshop.  Resources for the project incorporated books and articles on discipleship and information obtained through personal interviews with officers and men of USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70). The project resulted in the participants gaining an understanding of discipleship and learning guidelines to enhance their spiritual lives. Part of the process included team development and leadership skill development on the part of the author.  The process took twenty-two months to complete. People already in leadership positions in the church conducted the project. Resources were made available to them and they did the actual writing of the operations manual.  The author directed the activities of the group and worked in a collaborative manner.  Instruments were used to measure team effectiveness. As such, it should be promoted in Guatamalan Baptist life through the Baptist seminary program.  This became the project.  The thesis is defended upon the basis of New Testament evangelistic practices as well as those of successful contemporary churches in Guatemala and elsewhere. The program has been developed carefully on the basis of strong theological and theoretical rationale.  The method of study combines 13 class teachings and a marriage enrichment retreat followed by a three-month support group.  The program was implemented at the Korean First Baptist Church (SanJose, California).  Results show a significant improvement in the rolemodels, relational behavior, communication, and conflict management. It is an attempt to provide information about stress, and to emphasize coping skills. After preliminary research, the writer found that role stress, conflict stress, and culture stress were three key stressors in the lives of Valley pastors. An eight hour seminar on stress in ministry was scheduled.  The two-fold goal of increasing awareness of stress and increasing coping efficacy was emphasized in the seminar.  After the seminar, six pastors were monitored over a six-week period to determine benefits received from the seminar experience.
