The study developed a questionnaire which enlisted Portuguese speakers in an eight-week program to evaluate a weekly broadcast of gospel messages.  The study sought to measure attitudinal change, content assimilation, and possible future involvement in Protestant activities. Results were: attitudinal change: 30 percent indicated a positive shift; content assimilation: a majority indicated understanding and retention; possible future involvement: 46 percent indicated interest in Protestant activities. Thirteen laypersons were trained during seven sessions in the principles of leadership, small group discipleship, group building, and the inductive Bible study method.  These principles were applied to the existing adult Bible study program.  Evaluation procedures revealed a positive move from a basic lecture style of teaching to a relational style of teaching. The project included 3 phases: planning, preparation and program.  During the final phase, the project director, his nine project assistants, and a trained corps of thirty volunteers from the church made approximately seventy ministry contacts to the church's military families during periods of job-related separation. The church has lacked sufficient teachers to cover the needs in the Sunday School classes. This project was designed to train six to eight persons as teachers for young people and adults.  The areas of training chosen were the privileges and responsibilities of a Sunday School teacher, the revelation of the redemptive message of salvation, regional differences of the Spanish language and culture, basic methods of teaching, the organization of Sunday School classes, and characteristics of the adult and young people groups.  Preparation for the project included research, writing of a prospectus, selection of materials, church planning, and enlistment of trainees.  Implementation of the project covered a six-week period. The evaluation was conducted through the use of three kinds of questionnaires filled out by the trainees. This project was designed to put into practice the uniqueness Baptists claim for the priesthood of all believers.  If all Christians are priests, then there should be no distinctions between the clergy and laity.  The aim of this project was to 'empower' the laity for intentional ministry in the church. Twenty-six people were enlisted for this project.  Seven were participants in the ministry training and supervision.  Of these seven, three constituted the experiment group and four constituted the control group. The control group was trained but not supervised.  The experiment group was supervised for five months after training.  The remaining people served as evaluators and support group systems. Those who were both trained and supervised became more effective in ministry than those who were trained but not supervised. The program included recruiting and selecting trainees, curriculum development, teaching the program and evaluating the results.  Ten lessons in theory were alternated with practical assignments in children's classrooms under the supervision of a fully trained teacher. Each trainee selected a preferred age group.  The theoretical training included material appropriate to teaching children ages two years through sixth grade.  An integral six week component focused on the personal spiritual growth of the teacher.  The program was evaluated by twelve trainees at the end of the first semester of teaching. In a six hour seminar and four weekly meetings the staff was introduced to the theory of situational leadership developed by Paul Hersey and Kenneth Blanchard.  The author administered a pretest and posttest, to the staff and to a control group. Statistics from the tests indicated an increased leadership effectiveness in the experimental group and no change in the control group.
