An overuse of power could lead to a negative, controlling environment where churches and people are harmed. An underuse of power could lead to a general malaise in the church: a lack of direction and passion for the Lord's work. This thesis-project was a leadership awareness study of the nature of power and authority in the role of pastoral leadership in which the biblical and theological perspectives on the issue of pastoral authority were explored.
