Korean immigrants to the United States have specific challenges in their marriages and families. An understanding of the biblical view of marriage and family, combined with skills in marriage and family therapy can help counselors and pastors serve Korean immigrants and their families. In developing this concept, the constructs of meaning, purpose, and structure are helpful to use. The therapist then must decide which approaches are appropriate to use from their philosophical stand point as well as the needs of the family. An integrated approach to therapy is the most useful.
