It states that true brokenness is primarily about admitting the foolish directions of our hearts, often shaped by our wounded past. An exploration of Scripture and literature formed a context for the research, conducted as a semi-structured interview. It consists of interviews and follow-up conversations with people who are lay leaders in their respective church communities. The result of the research was that most people were challenged to think more biblically about brokenness and how God is working redemptively in the midst of it."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131146322444288,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:42:51.563Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:05:41Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:08:52Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e69078f0-cbea-4694-8647-d1522d84eaab","accessControl_ssim":["346bfd60-b12f-4b31-8c33-766987e4151b"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A heart for God: the glory of God in revival"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:05:41Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:43:29Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["5bae563f-7355-417f-bca3-acc189e17803"],"hasLease_ssim":["6a4724a0-be9f-4d34-9093-8db355c29693"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Garth M Rosell"],"year_tesim":["2007"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Leland G Botzet"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Spiritual life--Christianity","Glory of God","Theological anthropology--Christianity"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This thesis contends that the spiritual decline that is currently being experienced within evangelical community of faith is a result of the removal of the centrality of humanity's created purpose to glorify God from the gospel.  The author seeks to prove theologically, biblically, historically, and experientially that fallen humanity has always been naturally resistant to this God-centered relationship because of the inbred, sinful, self-centeredness that lies within the human heart. This examination affirms biblical teaching which simultaneously endorses cultural particularity while affirming the universality of humanity under God.  This universality is based on creation, God's redemptive plan for all nations, Jesus' death on the cross, the establishment of the church, and the eschatological vision of the multi-cultural assembly in Revelation 5:9 and 7:9.  Implementing this unity-in-diversity includes identifying sinful tendencies to find our identity at the expense of others, caring for the 'outsiders,' participating in God's redemptive plan, working towards reconciliation, and taking initiative to live out the 'new humanity' described in Ephesians 2:11-22."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132134677676032,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:58:34.132Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":3,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"Anthony J Vartuli","hits":1,"label":"Anthony J Vartuli"},{"value":"Leland G Botzet","hits":1,"label":"Leland G Botzet"},{"value":"Paul M Borthwick","hits":1,"label":"Paul M Borthwick"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Theological anthropology--Christianity","hits":3,"label":"Theological anthropology--Christianity"},{"value":"Spiritual life--Christianity","hits":2,"label":"Spiritual life--Christianity"},{"value":"Christianity and culture","hits":1,"label":"Christianity and culture"},{"value":"Ethnicity","hits":1,"label":"Ethnicity"},{"value":"Glory of God","hits":1,"label":"Glory of God"},{"value":"Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","hits":1,"label":"Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity"}],"label":"Subject"},{"name":"location_sim","items":[],"label":"Location"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[{"value":"English","hits":3,"label":"English"}],"label":"Language"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[{"value":"Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary","hits":3,"label":"Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Publisher"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[],"label":"Date Created"},{"name":"types_sim","items":[{"value":"Text","hits":3,"label":"Text"}],"label":"Type"},{"name":"year_sim","items":[{"value":"2007","hits":2,"label":"2007"},{"value":"2010","hits":1,"label":"2010"}],"label":"Year"},{"name":"format_sim","items":[],"label":"Format"},{"name":"member_of_collections_ssim","items":[{"value":"Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary","hits":3,"label":"Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Collections"},{"name":"degree_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":3,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Degree"},{"name":"discipline_sim","items":[],"label":"Discipline"},{"name":"degree_granting_institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary","hits":3,"label":"Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Degree Granting Institution"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[],"label":"Department"},{"name":"funder_name_sim","items":[],"label":"Funder Name"},{"name":"event_title_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Title"},{"name":"event_date_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Date"},{"name":"institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Atla RIM","hits":3,"label":"Atla RIM"}],"label":"Host Institution"}],"pages":{"current_page":1,"next_page":null,"prev_page":null,"total_pages":1,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":0,"total_count":3,"first_page?":true,"last_page?":true}}}
