The author first heightened parishioners interest in personal evangelism, then demonstrated that personal evangelism was biblical and created a six-part training program to equip them on how to do personal evangelism. Participants were then given the opportunity to implement the principles they learned in order to determine the effectiveness of this strategy. The project became a reality in 1981. It was designed to fulfill two goals: 1. to articulate my theological understanding of the relationship between the church's educational ministry and its pastoral ministry of faith development; 2. to develop a three year program of adult education rooted in that theological understanding. The method of study included: classes, readings, Christian education committee work and the parish life and ministry development process. For the congregation the project resulted in: 1. an opportunity to plan and implement a three year adult education program; 2. a booklet which outlines the educational ministry program and presents the theological goals, and statements which undergird the curriculum."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Hartford Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8e52e4c8-38b6-4846-872d-a744b4f5725d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791125586216747008,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:14:29.033Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:13:22Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:27:35Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"f7f17066-e7a4-4447-820f-2290b11e06b2","accessControl_ssim":["1e9ea745-1e95-41fd-a91d-a302d9893806"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Educating for faith and spiritual formation among middle judicatory volunteers in the Connecticut Conference United Church of Christ"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:13:21Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:12:47Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["99792fe1-ddf0-4304-951c-a419730fff54"],"hasLease_ssim":["c5cb74a5-82f0-4420-a821-1c98b21cac86"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Hartford Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Nancy Tatom Ammerman"],"year_tesim":["1999"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Child, Virginia H."],"publisher_tesim":["Hartford Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church polity","Christian education"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Main line volunteers are unprepared for service with middle judicatories.
