In some denominations, it is the majority style of ministry.  Many pastors will serve some, or all, of their pastorates there. Where the people as a whole and the pastor have shared significant mutual trust, such 'corporate' trust begins to weaken while the personal ties, or 'one to one' trust between the pastor and individual parishioners grows deeper.  What do these paradoxical-seeming changes mean?  nearly eighty such pastorates were studied to learn how the pastor can maintain strong corporate trust as well as the individual trust that results in good pastoral care.
