The movement's advocates, the author feels, have separated their activities from the consensus fidelium and have not defined ecumenism in terms of the church's tradition. Taking a traditionalist path of research, the author presents witness from the Bible, Councils, and fathers of the undivided Church for ecumenism as a movement integral to the church's covenant in the world. The project gives an overview of each man relating personal biographical sketches, historical data, styles of their principle forms of ministry and an analysis of their similarities.  By drawing a comparison analysis and intentionally weaving their similarities into a single model, an effective means of communicating the Gospel occurs. The impact of religion on some of the first schools for the blind is reviewed and a survey is made of 43 such schools to explore how religious needs are currently being met. Workshop materials were predicated on theological, psychological and communication principles.  Couples, attending workshops in four churches, prepared communication goals on a graded scale to achieve in three months. Sixteen of twenty-one couples returned the scales to me.  I processed and interpreted the results. Indigenization is proposed as a viable redevelopment strategy.  It seeks to condition congregational life to cultural contexts in the application of principles of self-government, self-propagation and self-support. Assumptions drawn from historical data, interviews and studies of existing congregations were tested on a research model, Detroit Presbytery's redevelopment to two defunct congregations, resulting in the launching of Trinity Community Presbyterian Church.
