The basic approach was inductive. The method of studying men was through personal narrative, story and observation. The family, the culture and the church affect the way men perceive themselves as males. The most important influence are other men, especially fathers. When these relationships are perceived as negative, men experience personal, sexual and spiritual fragmentation. If the church is to be effective in ministering to men it needs to provide a community where men can explore their personal goodness, sexuality and spirituality."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131134795448320,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:42:40.569Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:24:37Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:17:08Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"5539dd05-103f-406b-a6cc-6b348fa30bf6","accessControl_ssim":["20263597-3b34-4fbb-9165-a6334d476af1"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Worship and personality types"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:24:36Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:37:53Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["7773f263-35be-447b-b42e-bbca7c572374"],"hasLease_ssim":["726f6c91-14ec-4fa0-bfb2-249b5cd99c24"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Luther Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Patrick R Keifert"],"year_tesim":["1991"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David F Lindblom"],"publisher_tesim":["Luther Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Worship","Typology (Psychology)","Personality","Psychology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Because people differ in regard to the way in which they use the psychic functions of their personalities, they relate to the various dimensions of worship in different ways and intensities. To demonstrate this thesis, people were chosen randomly from six Lutheran congregations of various sizes and contexts for ministry. Each person was given the Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator and a worship questionnaire. The scores of these instruments were standardized and correlated, and the statistical evidence supported the thesis. The implications of this study for a congregation's evangelism and worship planning are manifold. When worship leaders are more sensitive to the variety of people and their personality types, they will plan more holistic liturgies."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791125756937502720,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:17:11.845Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:09:12Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:31:12Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"6cfca464-7dba-478e-b848-25a341be134a","accessControl_ssim":["01b57908-ee4a-4aa8-a301-6e095ec0a645"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A theological/biblical perspective of the twelve steps of Alcoholics Anonymous for implementation in ministry"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:09:11Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:19:30Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["7fa1861e-871f-4c40-a701-86cdcb44b261"],"hasLease_ssim":["3d5d9441-b95a-43e2-ae45-6a8ee50d4199"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Luther Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Ronald North"],"year_tesim":["1984"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Dennis C Morreim"],"publisher_tesim":["Luther Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Oxford movement","Alcoholics Anonymous","Church work","Pastoral theology","Psychology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Within the twelve steps of Alcoholics Anonymous there are numerous theological and biblical themes ingrained. Each of the steps is viewed in the thesis. Some of the theological/biblical themes that emerge are: pneumatology and faith, conversion/spiritual transformation, confession, reconciliation and forgiveness, justification by grace, sanctification, freedom, baptism, prayer and meditation, worship, spiritual awakening, evangelism, and discipleship. Research is gathered from existing data and excerpts from over 30 taped interviews with persons who are either recovering alcoholics or are CD counselors in a treatment program and have some affiliation with the Christian faith. They were asked as to any theological/biblical themes they perceived in the twelve steps. The intent of this thesis is to assist in the construction of bridges for communication and understanding between those in AA and those in the church. It begins with an overview of the Oxford Group Movement and its 8 points and explores the birth of AA looking specifically at the lives of the co-founders. The thesis concludes with examples of how an understanding of the 12 steps can be used in ministry."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791126641922015232,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:31:15.832Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:35:02Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:43:54Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0f769e71-6eba-4103-a890-9430e3f8d65e","accessControl_ssim":["e89cc7e4-3d2c-444b-bd99-1b6ec26b3b06"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The mid-life journey: selected issues for clergy and spouses"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:35:01Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:33:35Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["19b6bcd3-aca9-4dec-8fd1-a8494723a160"],"hasLease_ssim":["57fb505c-02f5-4a99-b5c9-e2ff41a3dbf9"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Luther Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["John L Davis"],"year_tesim":["1983"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["William C Behrens"],"publisher_tesim":["Luther Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Clergy--Mental health","Psychology","Middle-aged persons"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The study identifies selected issues in the literature on the mid-life passage and attempts to determine if they are present in the lives of religious professionals of the church.
