The author preached for two years in a congregation where the relational system of evil worked to weaken the preacher's relationship with the congregation and the unity of the congregation. Various styles of preaching were employed by the preacher. The topic of evil was directly addressed in sermons. The author measured the results by polling listeners anonymously, interviewing specific listeners and discerning if the congregation was living out its faith during that time. This project documents the process of cooperation between the governing bodies of the two congregations to form this covenant agreement and the mutual ministries they share. Venture in Faith shares the physical facilities and several programs.  The study explores difficulties encountered in reaching the agreement and also current concerns.  It projects future possibilities for mutual mission. According to LC-MS statistics (1977-1987) 17.2 percent of the Synod's parish clergy began a new ministry each year.  The author offers practical insights on congregations and leadership.
