The central purpose of this paper is to empower leaders to effectively minister in a world that is ever changing. To this end, a dialogue between theology, scripture, personal experience, and culture is offered that will lead to the discovery of insights and a definition of dialogical leadership. Further, an attempt is made to define the paradigm in which the church is seeking to thrive as neo-apostolic. Finally, a working process for the development of dialogical leadership is offered."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["d722638c-a7e2-43f3-93ff-4762bde0dde7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133629787668480,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:22:19.980Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:39:33Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:17:22Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"170a2109-ae2c-4d42-9ed0-d1ca1118e2fc","accessControl_ssim":["56a4bacb-818c-4683-8736-f32fb2549b1f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Counting on pastoral care: attending to the sacred in the world of the hospital"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:39:32Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:48:07Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["165b1f32-cee7-4bd6-b737-4d639e3820eb"],"hasLease_ssim":["f4077dc9-13f1-4cad-a667-cff92d027a10"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"advisor_tesim":["Kathleen D Billman"],"year_tesim":["2006"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Arthur John Meyer"],"keyword_tesim":["Tests and measurements in religion"],"publisher_tesim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"subject_tesim":["Chaplains, Hospital"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The hospital chaplain is challenged with expectations for measurable goals and yet works with situations of intense meaning and sacred activity that are immeasurable, This thesis asks the chaplain to not see these as separate but to integrate the language of medicine and of the organization (numbers) with the language of the sacred (symbols).
