Unitarian Universalism has been dominated by an Enlightenment faith emphasizing reason, the scientific method, and humanism, but that emphasis has more recently been greatly diminished because it fails to address the full spiritual needs of people--heart as well as head, communal as well as individual, theological as well as anthropological.
