The client's struggle with guilt relates to a full theological understanding of human sin and God's forgiveness. Closeness and distance in human relationships relate theologically to sin and redemption. Responsibility in relationships is reflected in the love and faithfulness of Christ in his sacrifice for his body, the church. At the heart of the project were on-site focused interviews with seven staffs (one being a married couple), serving in three major Protestant denominations in varying geographic and socio-economic settings in the Northeast.  Although the data was insufficient to draw statistical conclusions, data suggested that these ministries can be effective in symbolic value, diversified gifts, and wider specializations.
