In this community of faith persons are empowered to minister in the midst of their own finitude and sense of brokenness, and discover God's strength in their apparent weakness. The implicit challenge in this model is for the church to discover ways in which persons can continue to hear God's call in the ambiguity of their lives and find ever new and creative ways to respond to the living God on their own faith journey. The anticipated outcome from the interventions is that through formal teaching of caregivers and leading a grief-recovery support group program with this particular faith community, that the overall climate to engage in and receive pastoral care by laity will be improved."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["7eda0323-a6d9-4fe2-807a-22620dd389a5"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128311057874944,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:57:47.644Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:07:02Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:57:24Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"692447e3-c600-4694-8697-854c47f5c6ab","accessControl_ssim":["fc578a0f-efab-42ae-9713-b602dee2cc4c"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Plural ministry: the recovery of vision"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:06:57Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:12:39Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d51e31bb-6c57-4950-92db-0e944343e240"],"hasLease_ssim":["bcd91c69-0737-424b-abd5-fcd976b1fc4c"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Anna Case-Winters","Phillip Brown"],"year_tesim":["1993"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Warren M Eshbach"],"publisher_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Church work","Lay Church work"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The theological principle undergirding this thesis is that the church is a called-out group of women and men who seek to follow Jesus Christ as disciples and who serve God in response to the needs of others in daily life. As such, the church seeks to live and minister by an Anabaptist ecclesiology which understands faith being lived out in a community of equals. Keeping this vision before God's people is the function of ministry for which all members are responsible. This ministry can be of a salaried model, but the times are also calling the church to examine again the early Pauline vision of plural ministry whereby persons with gifts are called from the local context for specific purposes of service. The key to any model of ministry is an understanding of leadership as non-hierarchical and inclusive. The most important conclusion reached in this research is that plural ministry is possible in the context of congregational life. The study examines a particular congregation where persons have been called to utilize their gifts in a manner which models mutuality and partnership."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["7eda0323-a6d9-4fe2-807a-22620dd389a5"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128289190871040,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:57:26.790Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:49:21Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:50:35Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"09b387e6-8a24-44b7-899b-289d00678343","accessControl_ssim":["a941f029-d67a-4e01-b989-1b08a0027ec7"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The revitalization of the Word through biblical storytelling"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:49:17Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:23:34Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["541e07bf-5f24-491f-a6de-8ed2b5c4841b"],"hasLease_ssim":["2364b85e-78c7-4876-9c3e-9b33b81c9ab4"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Abby Abendroth"],"year_tesim":["1991"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Linda Milavec"],"publisher_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church renewal--Catholic Church","Storytelling--Religious aspects--Christianity","Lay Church work"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This thesis is about the transmission and transmutation of God's self-communication in a postmodern electronic culture.
