As such, the church seeks to live and minister by an Anabaptist ecclesiology which understands faith being lived out in a community of equals. Keeping this vision before God's people is the function of ministry for which all members are responsible. This ministry can be of a salaried model, but the times are also calling the church to examine again the early Pauline vision of plural ministry whereby persons with gifts are called from the local context for specific purposes of service. The key to any model of ministry is an understanding of leadership as non-hierarchical and inclusive. The most important conclusion reached in this research is that plural ministry is possible in the context of congregational life. The study examines a particular congregation where persons have been called to utilize their gifts in a manner which models mutuality and partnership."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["7eda0323-a6d9-4fe2-807a-22620dd389a5"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128289190871040,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:57:26.790Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:07:02Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:03:11Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"bb82e1a4-d5d0-4bfa-bdb8-5cbb05031cd3","accessControl_ssim":["a255ade2-2bf0-439a-a534-7d018907b441"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["From program to mission: reactivation of a founding vision"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:07:02Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:31:47Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["c39ae6ed-a371-4ed0-8637-7802aa86e995"],"hasLease_ssim":["442afbdc-833e-4e8e-8163-cf52218b7a04"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Phillip Brown"],"year_tesim":["1993"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Mary L Heidkamp"],"publisher_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Social justice","Campaign for Human Development","Poor and the church"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The church is established in the world to proclaim the Kingdom of God. Congregations which understand themselves as 'households of God' support different family systems encouraging women to be full participants in societal, professional and personal needs, etc. A 'household of God' practices equality because God abides equally in them. Research was based on a congregation-sponsored day care which closed during the study time. The closing was caused by economic changes, competition and the congregation's inability to make a commitment to women becoming all God intended them to become."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["7eda0323-a6d9-4fe2-807a-22620dd389a5"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127981487292416,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:52:33.341Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:53:11Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:03:43Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"c50cedcb-b516-4b1d-86b3-660018fbfcf6","accessControl_ssim":["0b349bf8-4e2c-4ee3-a0b9-ceb6249090b9"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Greener pastures of God"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:53:10Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:47:30Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["135c6786-51b4-46d9-8a20-dd79916076bf"],"hasLease_ssim":["12a76030-e218-4074-8df9-7c40b30b5215"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["1993"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Pat A Jeffrey"],"publisher_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Rural churches","Mission of the church","Church growth"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Rural congregations functioning in a survival mode have an inward focus on self-preservation.
