It explores the HIV/AIDS-related teaching and ministry of the guru H. H. Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati and her human care service organization the River Fund, both at Kashi Ashram in Sebastian, FL. After providing her developmental biography, it summarizes her verbal, artistic, and kinesthetic forms of teaching. She responds to HIV/AIDS with the Hindu concept of seva (service) that follows the Hindu religious path of Karma Yoga (action). The project then examines the history and work of the River Fund, paying a particular focus to its de facto AIDS hospice, the River House. The organization is unique in both the Hindu and American religious contexts. The project demonstrates how a medium-sized religious congregation successfully provides secular HIV/AIDS social services."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720409447268352,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:05:31.202Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:04:31Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:12:01Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"bcd8af40-d5ba-4404-b516-d68e9c6163fa","accessControl_ssim":["5660889b-02a0-4a06-839f-9dec3b6e14d7"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Faith's body: a hermeneutic examination of recent Unitarian Universalist theology"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:04:28Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:34:26Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["f4bd763b-684e-45eb-bbff-461b5049bdc3"],"hasLease_ssim":["e8de6f51-586a-4b93-b1d8-60622c5228c6"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Meadville Lombard Theological School"],"advisor_tesim":["John Godbey"],"year_tesim":["1991"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["John W Baros-Johnson"],"keyword_tesim":["Unitarian Universalist Association--Doctrine"],"publisher_tesim":["Meadville Lombard Theological School"],"subject_tesim":["Fleck, G Peter","Burhoe, Ralph Wendell, 1911-1997","Unitarian Universalist Association","Howlett, Duncan","Truth--Religious aspects--Christianity"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Most Unitarian Universalist theologies since Emerson have been based on the direct intuition of intangible, eternal truths. Its methodology is historical-phenomenological. It concludes that Mozoomdar's visits in 1883, 1893 and 1900 as a missionary of the New Dispensation evoked considerable response in America.
