The small group curriculum provides a meaningful tool for pastors and caregivers, equipping them to respond to the needs of grieving people. The curriculum was field tested in a rural community with limited professional counseling and community resources. Popular church growth plans often are not applicable or conducive to such a setting and often have cataclysmic results for the church and pastor. This plan is adapted and curtailed to meet the needs of the subculture of the church while being faithful to its evangelical heritage. The step-by-step plan is given with the results, positive and negative.
