A strategy model with four project goals guided the development process. The first project goal was to examine critical issues in the membership assimilation  process. An internal audit and a survey of JBC attenders identified twelve critical issues in the membership assimilation process. The second project goal explored the field of church membership assimilation in order to \r\ndetermine best practices. By assembling an annotated bibliography and assessing select church assimilation models, I determined best practices for membership assimilation. The third project goal developed a membership assimilation strategy for attenders of JBC. A strategy team utilized the identified critical issues and best practices to develop the membership assimilation strategy. The strategy established a simple path that moves attenders into meaningful, active membership. On December 14, 2025, I  completed the fourth goal by presenting the strategy to JBC members. I began the project by exploring internal demographics of Burra Baptist to discover trends in membership assimilation. I used the church roll book as a principal source for historical information and a survey for members who joined the church in the last ten years. I then explored existing models of church membership assimilation to determine best practices for Burra Baptist. I explored \r\nliterature in church assimilation and produced an annotated bibliography. I then created an executive summary of best practices. The next step of the project was to develop a church membership assimilation strategy for Burra Baptist. To do this, I recruited and trained a strategy planning team. We met for  four sessions to review the prepared information and then to create a new member assimilation strategy. To accomplish this goal, I collected information about the membership and involvement level of new church members including LifeGroup attendance, DGroup attendance, involvement in serving, and a general survey of their familiarity with each of these as well as the church's core doctrinal beliefs. I selected three churches that assimilate new members well and researched their processes. I also created an annotated bibliography of relevant resources to guide this project. From the research, I identified and organized best practices. I also developed a strategic planning team to assist in discerning weaknesses in the church’s current process and needed improvements based on the research from other churches. The strategic planning team identified areas for improvement and created an assimilation strategy. The project was motivated by a desire to develop and deploy a diverse and well-equipped team of leaders to serve Crossings’s rapidly growing number of guests and prospective members. I completed the project by meeting three primary objectives. The first was to research the field of local church assimilation to identify prospective member assimilation skills. The second was to develop a curriculum to equip selected Crossings leaders with these skills. The third and final objective was to equip these leaders through the delivery of this prepared curriculum. During the implementation of the project, I utilized multiple assessment tools to validate the completion of these objectives, including an annotated \r\nbibliography, an assimilation skills list, several expert evaluators utilizing prepared rubrics, and pre- and post-assessments for participants. He presented the completed assimilation strategy to the leadership team of Stone Ridge Baptist Church for approval. He researched new member assimilation strategies at selected churches, as well as literature about new members assimilation to determine best practices. Based on the surveys, analysis and research, the project director developed a new member assimilation strategy for Dawson Memorial Baptist Church with guidance from the strategy planning team. The project's director researched various engagement strategies and surveyed the church laypeople to determine their value for ministry engagements. Next, the director created a ministry engagement team to develop the best strategy for the church with the obtained research. The ministry leadership team submitted the completed strategy to the church leadership team and obtained their approval. For the seminar to be highly effective, the project director will research curriculum writing methods and instruction planning, in order that the new member assimilation seminar will be encouraging and informative to the selected leaders who participate in this training.
