This project explored the internal demographics of the congregation by analyzing the Annual Church Profile data  and conducting an internal assessment to establish a baseline of church-health. I explored existing models of church health to identify best practices in the field and created an annotated bibliography and a list of best practices. I compiled research on church health and strategic planning and presented the research to the Strategic Initiative Team, selected from a cross-section of \r\ncurrent church leaders. The Strategic Initiative Team met for six strategy planning sessions and developed a customized strategy to promote church health and overcome unhealthy practices within the church. The Strategic Initiative Team presented the strategy to the membership of First Baptist Church Gulf Breeze for approval. This project enhanced my knowledge of church health and skills in developing strategic initiatives. Using the ministry research model, I researched church dynamics in Mississippi to identify regional church profiles. In this research, I included data from Annual Church Profiles from Southern Baptist churches in Mississippi, along with data from recent census reports, to identify population and demographic trends across the state. The synthesis of this data identified five regional church profiles in various parts of the state. Secondly, I researched contemporary church revitalization models and current state convention strategies to identify best practices. Lastly, I developed a strategy planning guide for the Mississippi Baptist Convention. Using this research, I will determine essential church revitalization skills and write a report that details the results. An expert evaluator will then evaluate both the annotated bibliography and the essential revitalization skills report.\r\n\r\nThe second phase of the project involves developing workshops to equip selected leaders of First Baptist Church, Anchorage, Alaska, in essential church revitalization skills. I will research the curriculum writing process by completing a self-guided study. Using this research, I will create a curriculum on identified essential church revitalization skills. An internal demographic study of Victory Baptist Church provided revitalization data for Victory Baptist Church. The project director conducted research in the field of church revitalization to determine the most effective practices. The project director selected a strategy team to help develop a revitalization strategy. Once the strategy team developed a revitalization strategy, I presented the strategy to the staff and deacon body of Victory Baptist Church, Monroe, Louisiana, forconsideration.I then utilized evaluation methods, which include, expert evaluators for the internal demographics, the most effective practices of revitalization, and the developed revitalization strategy. A pretest and posttest were used to evaluate the revitalization strategy team’s knowledge of revitalization. The replant pastor of the church was the project director. The project model implemented for the project was the strategy planning model which included four project goals and two professional goals.The project director explored internal and external demographics of CBC and the surrounding East Cobb, Georgia, community to develop an accurate church profile.  Exploration of successful replant models and other Doctor of Ministry replant projects determined best replant practices which the project director compiled. The project director selected and trained a strategy planning team who assisted designing the replant strategy. Finally, the project director presented the replant strategy to the CBC church body for approval.The project director pursued two professional goals for the duration of the project. The first professional goal sought to improve the project director's strategic leadership skills while advancing him as a leader in the area of church replanting. The project director gathered demographic data for the city of Pleasant Grove, Alabama, as well as a three-mile ring surrounding the church. Additionally, the project director analyzed internal church data and surveyed the congregation to augment his research. The community and church data helped the project director produce a profile of the trends in the community and congregation. The project director researched church revitalization models and methods, interviewed pastors involved in revitalization, and read extensively on the subject of revitalization. This investigation produced a report of best practices and potential steps toward revitalization. A team of strategic leaders in the church served as the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) and the project director led this team through a process to develop the strategy for revitalization. Various groups in the church received the presentation of the revitalization strategy and their input produced a final version of the presentation to be presented to the church body. The project director along with the SRT presented the proposed strategy to the congregation for approval. Finally, the project director will present the completed strategy to the deacon body for evaluation and then the church for ultimate approval at a scheduled business meeting. The project is derived from the strategic planning model. After conducting sufficient research, the project director will learn best practices in field revitalization. The project director will conduct a demographic study to verify the need of revitalizing the association. An internal demographic study will produce the facts and trends of the churches affiliated with the association. An external demographic study of the cities and communities of Anderson County, Tennessee, will be completed to increase awareness of community and generational needs and desires. The project director will assemble a strategic leadership team from the leaders of the associational churches. When assembled, the team will prepare and adopt a strategic planning process and develop a revitalization strategy. After the strategic planning process is created, the final step of the project will be a presentation of the proposed revitalization strategy to the messengers of the annual meeting, followed by the messengers’ vote on the proposal. The implementation of the revitalization strategy will begin in the project and will be completed after the approval of the project. The project model for this project was the ministry research model. First, the project director explored the field of church replanting to determine a list of the essential church replanter characteristics. Third, the project director designed a replanter pre-assessment process for online development. Fourth, the project director developed a replanter assessment guide for NAMB to provide local associations and state conventions. Finally, the project director presented the pre-assessment design and assessment guide to the NAMB Replant team for approval.
