I selected and trained a strategy team in discipleship methods to aid in the process of crafting a discipleship strategy. The strategy was informed  by research of discipleship models, best practices gleaned from those models, and  an internal questionnaire to determine implementation needs within the church. Following the training and presentation of my research, the strategy team aided me in creating the strategy specific to the context of First Baptist. I, along with the strategy team, presented the strategy to three age-based committees for their approval. As the project director, I used the equipping model to complete this project. To determine the best path for the project, I began by researching the field of apologetics to identify essential apologetic skills. Due to the rapidly changing nature of student ministry and the challenges of teaching students, I also researched how to develop engaging, interactive seminars to teach skills. Once I completed the research, I wrote a curriculum to equip selected students from my church. The first step involved research of FBCS’s Annual Church Profile to determine attendance trends from 2013 to 2022. The project director then surveyed selected church leaders to determine the current state of discipleship within FBCS.\r\n\r\nThe project director researched literature and existing disciple-making models and methods to discover the best practices for FBCS. The project director then selected a student and adult disciple-making strategy team to whom results of research were presented. The project director used the strategy planning model. The project director investigated existing disciple-making strategies popularized by Southern Baptist and non-Southern Baptist evangelical organizations as well as lesser-known programs in discipleship. The project director completed a systems audit by examining case studies of church members whose lives have changed significantly through discipleship. The project director studied the disciple-making strategies already used and currently in use at Antioch Baptist Church to reach college students in Boston, resulting in an organizational profile. The program director enlisted a team and held sessions to analyze the various discipleship programs and synthesize the most effective elements into a single unified strategy for disciplemaking. The project included three primary goals. First, the project director researched the field of church revitalization and developed an annotated bibliography. He determined contextually relevant church revitalization skills needed by college students and reported his findings.Second, the project director developed a contextually relevant church revitalization skills curriculum. In order to develop the curriculum, the project director researched curriculum writing and wrote a curriculum on church revitalization skills beneficial to college students. Multiple forms of demographic data were considered in order to identify the age ranges, socio-economic status, and behaviors that contribute to students becoming at-risk. Interviews with local and state agencies along with local school officials were conducted to ascertain what forms of assistance are available to students and if any proactive interventions are in place to prevent students from slipping into the at-risk category.
