The pastor of Union Baptist Church in Clarke County, Mississippi, is planning to launch Christian addiction-recovery ministries centered on weekday Celebrate Recovery [registered symbol] meetings. The ministries are collaborative works involving selected Chrsitians from Southern Baptist churches in the local Baptist associations. Phase two of these ministries include the addition of a rotating Friday night contemporary worship service at the same non-church locations where the weekday meetings will be held. Three goals are the foundation of this Doctor of Ministry equipping project. The first goal is to research addiction recovery in order to identify group facilitation skills. The second goal is to develop a curriculum to equip selected addiction-recovery ministry leaders in east Mississippi, in group facilitation skills. The third and final project goal is to equip selected addiction-recovery ministry leaders in east Mississippi, in group facilitation skills. Multiple forms of demographic data were considered in order to identify the age ranges, socio-economic status, and behaviors that contribute to students becoming at-risk. Interviews with local and state agencies along with local school officials were conducted to ascertain what forms of assistance are available to students and if any proactive interventions are in place to prevent students from slipping into the at-risk category. In the third step of the project, the director presented the developed adult discipleship strategy to Oakville Baptist Church for approval. Oakville Baptist Church unanimously approved the adult discipleship strategy. The workship schedule consisted of nine sessions held on Thursdays with approval by the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) and the administration of MSP. The selected group consisted of thirteen IRAs, and each session lasted approximately two hours. The project director addressed the following pastoral issues: pastoral ministry skills, comfort and caring skills, anger management skills (two sessions), counseling skills, interpersonal relationship skills, listening skills, and suicide prevention skills before closing the workship with a final summary session. The project goals were to research the field of pastoral ministry skills, to develop teaching sessions to equip selected IRAs in pastoral minisrty skills, and to equip selected inmate religious assistants (IRAs) in pastoral ministry skills. Second, the director developed a teaching module for selected Southern baptist leaders in Texas to use to train youth for ministry in cross-cultural setting. Last, the director equipped selected Southern baptist leaders in Texas with the teaching module to train youth in ministering cross-culturally. These selected leaders along with the youth participants provided assessment and evaluation regarding the effectiveness and usefulness of the training module. In addition to the ministry goals, the project director pursued two professional goals. The first professional goal was to increase knowledge in cross-cultural ministry for the purpose of developing a tool for training youth. The project director researched leadership coaching resources and methods. The research led to the development of an annotated bibliography, a comparison study on the distinctives of the coaching process and the training components. The fruit of this research aided in the development of an equipping model to train selected West Florida Christian Educators in leadership coaching. The equipping model was piloted with a select group of Ministers of Education in West Florida. The ten-week program consisted of a combination of group activity and lecture.  The group completed an open-ended narrative using selected vocabulary words.  Each member received five vocabulary words to contribute to the story line in successive group order using one word at a time. Lectures consisted of specific age-related topics of puberty. Descriptive survey methodology and statistical evaluations were used with an experimental and control group.
