The project director utilized the Transformational Church Assessment Tool and the Prompempo International Church Missions Profile to assess the current health of SURV Church.  A demographic study and interview with a Missions organization helped determine a wellness baseline.  The director studied the Bible, theological resources, and other healthy church practices to determine healthy indicators and best practices.  The project director developed a health strategy with the support of church members input. In the first phase, the project director administrated a survey to former summer staff and incoming staff.  From the gathered data, he developed a spiritual formation profile.  IN phase two, the project director researched the area of spiritual formation to discover core practices.  He then compiled a report of best practices for spiriutal formation.  The project director began phase three by constructing a strategy deelopment plan.  Then he assembled a strategy team.  Utilizing the profile data and best practice report, the strategy team developed a spiritula formation strategy for summer staff. The pastor of Union Baptist Church in Clarke County, Mississippi, is planning to launch Christian addiction-recovery ministries centered on weekday Celebrate Recovery [registered symbol] meetings. The ministries are collaborative works involving selected Chrsitians from Southern Baptist churches in the local Baptist associations. Phase two of these ministries include the addition of a rotating Friday night contemporary worship service at the same non-church locations where the weekday meetings will be held. Three goals are the foundation of this Doctor of Ministry equipping project. The first goal is to research addiction recovery in order to identify group facilitation skills. The second goal is to develop a curriculum to equip selected addiction-recovery ministry leaders in east Mississippi, in group facilitation skills. The third and final project goal is to equip selected addiction-recovery ministry leaders in east Mississippi, in group facilitation skills. The project director identified key components of spiritual development in regard to ministry leaders and volunteers. This project examined academic standards of spiritual formation. The project director selected a strategy team that assisted in the development of the plan for Central Baptist Church. The strategy accomplished four primary goals. The project director inspected the current state of spiritual formation as well  as academic standards in the area of spiritual formation. The research, as well as interviews with the principal ministry leaders, aided in the development of a spiritual formation strategy that the team developed and presented to the staff of Central Baptist Church for approval and/or endorsement, The project director engaged multiple methods of evaluation including expert evaluation, research, and surveys. The participants were then taught using a curriculum on henneneutic methodology written by the project director. The equipping class consisted of eight sessions taught on consecutive Monday evenings and focused on the essential methods of the observation, interpretation and application of Scripture. This project develoepd a faith-based strategy to equip ministers with knowledge of crisis ministry and how it will affect them.  The training offers information and skill sbaout caring for themsleves and others in crisis.   During the immediate crisis response, the State Board of Missions provided intervention specialists to come alongside the ministers for support.  When the effects of the stress seem to be hampering the minster's  overall well-being the intervention specialist refers to mental health professionals for more definitive care.  Followiong th eimmediate crisis minstry, the State Board of Missions offered pastoral care services and a retreat for the purpose of renewal and recovery in a group setting.
