A leadership training manual was developed and seven students were trained to lead koinonia groups.  These same students also participated in a weekly koinonia group meeting.  The participants and a control group of seven other students responded to a pretest/posttest.  The tests indicated statistically significant improvement in leadership skills and Christian maturity.  Outside advisors also provided input and evaluation. A curriculum was designed that consisted of eleven discipleship training sessions.  These discipleship training sessions took place weekly.  To determine the effectiveness of the program, the experimental research method was used. A program consisting of sermons, Sunday school lessons, and hands-on experience in worship planning was used to accomplish the purpose.  The program caused the participants to analyze their attitudes toward congregational worship and its importance to their lives. The program included training lessons to equip a prayer group and activities to involve the church.  The historical method was used to gather data on the theology of prayer.  The descriptive survey method was used to gather data on prayer ministries and prayer for missions.  The director gave pretests and posttests to evaluate changes in the group's attitudes and changes in the church's behavior. The developed training curriculum included the following methods: didactic seminars, personal interviews, group discussions, and group-led worship services.  The teaching curriculum included the following topics: the history of Baptist worship; the influence of historical eras, sociological groups, personal interests, personality type, and communication skills upon worship style. Historical, descriptive, and experimental research methodologies were used with the selected group. The author used a method of research that incorporated an experimental and a control group.  Eleven teaching sessions, a pretest, and a posttest were used to accomplish this goal.  The results of the pretest and posttest showed an increase in knowledge and a positive change in participation and attitude in the experimental group.
