The project director accomplished the project by exploring the field of invitation counseling, developing a curriculum of essentials needed for invitation counseling, and equipping selected adults to practice invitation counseling. The project director then trained the selected adults using the equipping model. The end result was a group of selected adults who now better understand the essentials of invitation counseling and who can implement them into invitation counseling situations in the future. The project director identified the accessibility needs of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and the surrounding community with the help of church members and experts who serve people with special needs. At the same time, the project director researched and created a strategy planning process for Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Then the project director enlisted church leaders to serve on a strategy development team. the project director led the team to develop a special-needs ministry strategy designed to serve the church and reach the community. Next, the project director prepared a strategy presentation for the church with the help of the team. Finally, he presented the team's special-needs ministry strategy to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church for their adoption in regularly scheduled business meeting. The first step was an internal analysis of the congregation of FBCA. Statistical information was gathered from the Annual Church Profile reports and insights gained from the project director's tenure as pastor. The analysis also included an assessment of the congregation of FBCA. The insight and assessment results were shared with the Vision Committee of FBCA, which served the project as strategy-planning team. The team assisted the project director in identifying the critical areas of need in the life of FBCA, giving insights and direction for strategy components, and aided the project director in setting goals and action steps for the strategy itself. The project director met with the team in four sessions to accomplish the aforementioned purpose. He then investigated the internal and external demographics of Bethel Baptist Church, Trenton, Florida. The project director selected church members to serve on a church revitalization strategy development team. He chose members who were involved in a wide range of ministries in Bethel Baptist Church. He trained the members of the strategy development team and led them through a chosen strategy development process to create a step-by-step church revitalization strategy. The project director researched the fields of mentoring, church leadership, and intergenerational relationships to determine the best methods and practices for the strategy. From this research, the project director created an annotated bibliography and report on best practices. The project director investigated several strategic planning models and selected the most appropriate model as a guide for the project. In order to identify barriers and opportunities for the ministry, the project director conducted and audit of First Baptist Church, Andrews, Texas, through an online questionnaire and demographic study. He also developed two annotated bibliographies. Experts in their respective fields evaluated these bibliographies for proficiency and scholarship. The director developed a sermon series to increase congregational awareness of Baptist distinctives. Finally, he preached these selected Baptist distinctives to worshipers at Gate City Baptist Church. First the project director researched the field to determine best practices for teaching theology to children, and then developed a curriculum. The project director presented the curriculum in an all-day training session. The training session included: (1) teaching methodologies based on Deuteronomy, (2) questions carefully worded to help children discover the Bible message, and (3) a model for discovering biblical truth, developed to help both the teacher and the students identify the doctrinal elements in the bible passage being studied and for creative, practical ways to apply the doctrine in daily life. An expert in biblical and theological studies reviewed the research and an annotated bibliography on which the curriculum was designed, and a curriculum expert approved the lesson plans. Rev. Tim Millwood, as field mentor, discussed the project prior to the implementation, attended the project implementation, and provided feedback on the project and its impact.
