The project began by researching both the secular and biblical fields as to the nature and functions of team-building, a team-based ministry, and good leadership, as well as curriculum design. Denominations have primarily offered a consultant and training model, but many, including the Tennessee Baptist Convention, are beginning to recognize the value of a coach approach to serve their constituents.  The project was completed in three phases.  Phase one involved investigating the field of coaching.  The research increased the project director's knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of coaching and how to utilize these to coach teams as well as individuals.  Phase two centered on applying the research to the project director's job as a ministry strategist with the Tennessee Baptist Convention. The project director compiled a manual which was published online for the use of the Ministry Strategist Team.  The final stage involved demonstrating the director's increased skill in the area of coaching. Trinity Baptist Church is located in a city that is seeing phenomenal growth and change, from being a small farming community to the second largest municipality in Orange County, Florida.  Many of the people moving to our community are members of the Bridger Generation, which is the second largest generation in American history.  This generation is very different from previous generations.  The challenge for the church is to develop a strategy to evangelize the young adults.  This project researched strategic methods used to evangelize young adults.  Upon completion of the research, the project director led a select group of young adults to create a strategy to evangelize young adults in Apopka, Florida. The study course included five instructional sessions scheduled one week apart, with workbook assignments for participants to complete between each teaching session.  The goal of this course was to teach participants the biblical principles which lead to spiritual growth, as well as scriptural standards by which to evaluate key aspects of their lives.  Learners then moved from self-evaluation to setting written goals that drew them closer to God's standard for their lives.  Finally, participants designed a customized spiritual growth strategy, including specific action steps to reach their goals. They are not dead because both husbands and wives still live together; they are not separated or divorced.  The marriage is not alive either because the union has become sour, bitter, and burdensome.  In the search to find out how best to reverse this trend, communication skills stand out as one solution.  The project is a research into literature from leading authorities in both secular and religious communities on communication skills with particular reference to strengthening marital relationships.  Care was taken in the selection of materials to assure sound biblical foundation.  The materials selected were used to develop lesson plans for training couples in communication that leads to relationship building. The purpose of this project was to train a select group of married couples of Shepherdhill Baptist Church, Lagos, Nigeria in communication skills to strengthen marriage. The training sessions focused on developing participants in communication that builds up relationships with the overall goal of producing a healthy marital relationship that leads to security and stability of Christian homes. The focus of the project is on verbal, face-to-face, communication between couples.  Hence, the discussions during the seminars emphasized components of communication such as listening, self disclosure, and transparency.  As the project progressed, it became obvious that participants, though vast in Bible knowledge, pay very little attention to applying biblical principles to their lifestyle. This meant that the discipleship programs which many of the participants attended and their personal Bible studies emphasized head knowledge rather than heart knowledge.  What changes people is the application of Bible principles to everyday life, not just the hearing of the word, but the doing of the word.  Therefore, the project emphasized application rather than theoretical knowledge of the Bible to achieve the desired goal.  As a result of this finding, couples' ministry has been fully established in the church with monthly activities.
