The project director implemented a twelve-session project which was designed to guide selected members of Gateway Baptist Church through a process to develop a strategy to reach unchurched young adults.  The project director researched the subject matter and gathered the information needed to develop and train the participants in building a strategy.  He equipped the strategy building group to develop a strategy to reach unchurched young adults in South Tipton County.  The project director and the strategy building team presented the proposed strategy to the congregation. The student was then to present the strategy to the administration of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS).  The project was to develop a strategy that would increase the likelihood that graduates of NOBTS would become financial supporters of the institution.  Among the hundreds of thousands of titles that have been published that related to fund-raising in higher education, little material was available that was specific to this area of research.  This area of research was concentrated on how other institutions of higher education were developing currently enrolled students so they will eventually become financial supporters of the institution.  A group of development directors at select schools were interviewed by the project director. Each director was asked the same series of questions that related to how they raised money.  Each was asked specifically about how they were attempting to instill a sense of responsibility for the institution in their currently enrolled student body. Each new member was assigned a mentor based on age and marital status.  Adult new members will acquire a greater understanding of church theology and philosophy with a membership class. The project sessions began with an introductory meeting to discuss what the classes would entail.  The deacons then participated in six training sessions lasting one and one-half hours each.  An eighth and final session was held to review and answer any questions that had arisen during the implementation of the project.  The training materials for these sessions were developed to meet the specific needs of life crisis events in the Centreville community.
