The project director researched effective disciple making strategies utilized by churches in similar demographic contexts to KLBC to learn principles applicable to KLBC's ministry. The project director increased his knowledge in disciple-making strategies and his skill in strategic planning. A strategy planning team was selected and trained to develop a disciple-making strategy based on the demographic research and other disciple-making strategies discovered by the project director. Research was conducted regarding the psychological development of teenagers and how their development relates to interpersonal relationship skills. Current research in books, journals, and online resources were used for further study of interpersonal relationship skills. Several high school counselors were interviewed to find out how these skills impact students in schools. Consulting numerous print and electronic journals, ongoing leadership training programs and pastors, the project director designed a biblically-based teaching module that addresses spirituality, leadership skills training, gifts analysis with service opportunity, and conflict resolution. Another important element is evaluation of the trainees, director, and overall program effectiveness. Instruction included three introductory sessions and five implementation sessions based on Colossians 3:1-17. The first three sessions were an introduction to VIM, hearing God, and an inductive study of Christ in Colossians.  Implementation sessions included heavenly mindedness, sexual sins, social sins, Christlike graces, and spirit-controlled living. The seminars included a biblical rationale for establishing an on-going grief ministry, a working understanding of the grief process, and knowledge of how to minister to grieving people.
