The project director developed an equipping model based on specialized research on the challenges facing busy mothers in today's society.  The project's topics included the practice of devotions, the perspectives of self, the priorities of life, and the purpose of life.  The project director wrote twenty-eight devotions that served as daily homework. Each devotion was accompanied by a daily scripture card with the project director's original artwork. First, the director sought to inform the church concerning its biblical responsibility to the bereaved.  Second, to motivate church members to commit to become involved in hands-on ministry to the bereaved after the funeral.  Third, the director developed sermons that helped grieving people to be comforted and facilitated them in their healing process.  This facilitation was accomplished by better understanding of the hope and comfort given in the Scriptures. The project director facilitated a four-week seminar with the deacons using small group study, large group discussion, and assignments outside the class to encourage group participation in the completion of the new member program design.  The deacons, then, engaged in leading a group of new members through a three-hour new member assimilation course. The deacons developed a greater understanding and awareness of the need for new member assimilation. Components of the project included:  exploring the demographics of the region to determine which people groups are unreached and unengaged, reviewing existing strategies of International Mission Board-related work in the region, developing a decision tree process to assign specific strategy types for engaging the unreached peoples, developing a plan to begin the initial engagement of the unengaged unreached people groups in the region, and presenting the plan to the regional leadership team for their review and consideration. This project will include: 1) research into the concept of the Spirit-filled life from a biblical, historical, and contemporary context; 2) development of curriculum for a forty-day discipleship training course on living the Spirit-filled life, and 3) equipping members of Turning Point Baptist Church to live a Spirit-filled life.  The curriculum includes lesson plans and an interactive student devotional.  The devotional contains forty chapters which are designed to be read in consecutive days.  Numerous individuals, including experts in the field of the Holy Spirit, critiqued and commented about the curriculum before church members were equipped.
