The booklet was tested over a five-month period ending with a threefold evaluation.  The project calls for leaders to model Christ for the mentorees.  The report discusses mentoring as exemplified in scripture, and summarizes the difficulties, benefits and lessons learned from the project.  It concludes that mentoring can be done in Cameroon if pastors are appropriately equipped and encouraged. The Anoka program, presented to jail administration and local clergy by the author in 1983, included the following essentials: 1. a firm, two-year clergy commitment; 2. two initial sessions of orientation and training for clergy and laymen; and 3. semi-annual meetings to evaluate and expand jail ministry skills.  The program was accepted and began in April, 1984, with thirteen clergy taking turns in providing a weekly ministry. A steering committee was chosen to direct the program. The pastors were organized (by region) into groups of four to six men.  In each of five consecutive months, they read an assigned book (a different book each month) and then met to discuss it.  Their reading and discussion provided continuing education.  Their being together provided an opportunity for fellowship.  The project report outlines the minister's continuing education and fellowship needs as suggested from Scripture and ministry-related materials.  The format of the project is then explored and analyzed.
