It is an effort to provide a pattern to encourage true community in the local congregation.  Reading, examination of existing designs, developing and conducting an initial experiment of the caretaking design within the local church, evaluation and revisions formed the essential method of study. Planning resources for a church year are developed. The strategy was 1) cable tv spreads the Christian message, and 2) personal contacts help make it believable.  The writer read in the areas of cable technology, communications, and evangelism.  Other research included interviews and workshops at a video conference.  Measuring the response of the viewers to the cable program was difficult. Laypersons were not mobilized sufficiently.  No known commitment to Christ resulted. Schleiermacher, Barth, Bultmann, Tillich and Moltmann are considered as most important from theological literature.  Freud, Jung, Frankl, Maslow, Rogers and May are the psychologists discussed.  A case presentation is utilized to allow an interpretation of theological and psychological constructs.  Specific conclusions and implications are drawn for pastoral care, theological education, church ministry and lay application. The purpose was to design a jail ministry Conscientization Project to influence the attitudes of church members toward the incarcerated and their families. The research consisted of the application of a survey that permitted the determination of the participants' attitudes. The project was designed to demonstrate that there is an improvement in the participants' attitudes toward the incarcerated and their families after participating in the project. The implementation of the project demonstrated that the capacitation of the leaders was effective and that the proposed objectives were accomplished. The primary purpose of the project was to utilize trained persons more effectively for the proclamation of the gospel.  Questionnaires were distributed to the congregation to determine the subjects for training seminars.  Entrance and exit examinations were given to gauge what participants had learned and how they had changed. The subjects of the seminars were the necessity of lay leadership, non-participatory and participatory ways of education, equality and impartiality, and types of leadership.
