Through 36 interviews with active and inactive Christians and people who are agnostic, atheists, skeptics, indifferent, or hostile to the Christian faith the project evaluates the effectiveness of the catechetical process Basic Christianity as it addresses the Alaskan context and suggests modifications and adaptations to it. The practicum was conducted over a weekend, and a group of eight youth workers from the Central Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church were invited to participate.  The project emphasized the value of mentoring in the equippng process.  The mentor relationship provides a forum for affirmation, supervision, modeling, instruction, guidance, correction, and encouragement.
