Congregations established in faith and doctrine may examine and utilize the language, philosophy and training examples of several successful hospitality businesses to provide a welcoming environment and offer ministry opportunities to guests and first time visitors.  The author researched three business and two churches to compare intentional hospitality processes, examined the congregation's statistical data, assembled several presentations, and educated the congregation of the results. Research included an online survey, interviews, and workshops.  The project concluded that faith must necessarily include trust, loyalty, and worldview in addition to belief.  It was also concluded that Unitarian Universalism has a rich heritage that encourages a theology of uncertainty, local and global commitments, and a generous view of humanity and God as essentially good.
