This project develops a questionnaire designed to test fifty-seven possible barriers for qualitative research on the issue using focus groups.  This process was carried out in First United Methodist Church, Millington, Tennessee, in the fall of 1995.  The project discovered four categories of barriers: lack of biblical knowledge, lack of practical knowledge on how to witness, cultural effects of Enlightenment thinking, and negative effects of a 'Christendom' mindset. The WCC presents lessons designed to amend sexist teachings with corrective love that enables one to care for and support another, but not at the loss of self.  The project tests the WCC in a diverse group of black Christian women assembled for five sessions exploring self-development, methods of building healthy bonds with other women, and investigation of sexism in the Scriptures, contemporary literature, and personal lives. This project investigates the effectiveness of existing evangelism models and seeks to discern and develop new models for reaching Generation X. Employing varieties of demographic data, the project conducts small groups, surveys, target groups and seminars over seven months.  The project finds that Generation X responds quicker than other generations to specific invitations to many levels of participation, short-term objective oriented ministry tasks, and an honest, relationship-based
