It evaluates the 'Perspectives in Feminist Theology' curriculum which is prepared as a group-guided study for the Perkins School of Theology.  It evaluates Groome's 'shared praxis' approach and its potential for effectively presenting material which is 'engaged' in the cause of the full participation and empowerment of women in church and society.  The thesis is that upon completion of the curriculum, the student and participating group have an introduction to various models of feminist theology and are prepared to continue the feminist theological task through further study and personal participation. Conclusions are based on evaluations of participants in the study and from a Perkins School of Theology senior who worked with the currriculum. Dialogical counseling and guided meditation are its major methodological divisions.  The meditation component leads the client's psyche into a Christian religious state by following the intensified faithing schema.  The schema is comprised of archetypal imagery and Christian belief statements which activate the client's affectively charged cognitive faithing structures. Creative growth symbols and crisis intervention procedures restructure preconscious negative mental-emotional-spiritual concepts which then tend to become behaviorally concrete.  The thesis is: Faithing is the psyche's primary operation. Research consists of: a) a practicum of four sermons and written and oral evaluations of the sermons by ten congregants and three professors; b) an analysis of the feedback.  It concludes that narrative preaching is a style which can be very helpful in facilitating the reception and understanding of prophetic preaching. The project focused on immigrants who had become related to The International Church of the Metroplex (TICOM).  Separate practicum discussion groups of immigrants and Americans and a random survey indicated that even though they had had negative experiences, especially of rejection from white churches, the immigrants had kept their Christian faith intact.  The practicum also revealed that it was a lack of contact and interaction between the Americans and the Third World immigrants which was responsible for  their fear and mistrust of one another. The project centers around the Church as symbol.  The central question is addressed in a practicum which consists of seven two-hour sessions that use the five movements of shared praxis and in thirteen faith development interviews before and after the practicum.  The interviews are conducted according to James Fowler's short interview form.  The data reveals that there is no faith development change when this model is used.
