The project as a whole has four parts.  The first is an analysis of the issues confronting men currently.  The second section contains summaries of the seven key books in the field. A small group of laity was recruited from the New Creation Christian Fellowship of San Antonio, Texas.  While the main purpose of the group was to examine rites of passage as developed through Scriptures, African traditions and the Boy Scouts, particular attention was given to ensure that the group experienced the mentoring process.  This practicum/project laid the foundation necessary to establish a group of mentors committed to teach, transmit, and train young people to become all they are capable of being. A team representing eight different denominational traditions was recruited.  The team met on three occasions for seminars open to the public. An experimental group was exposed to six one-hour alcohol education sessions over as many weeks.  A control group in a comparable nearby church received no education.  Utilizing identical anonymous pretests and posttests for both groups, it was determined a significant change did take place in the attitudes of the experimental group, but not in the control group. Recognizing the mutual ministry of laity and clergy, a core group called the pastor's advisory committee (PAC) was formed to study, develop, and implement such a plan.  The aim of this project was threefold: to identify the problem of inactivity within the membership; to develop biblical/theological thought on inactivity; and to employ a pilot program to start the reassimilation process. Southern Cheyenne and Arapaho beliefs and customs concerning death and burial are studied through interviews with Cheyenne and Arapaho religious leaders and relevant written materials.  Two sample Southern Cheyenne and Arapaho funerals described in the paper contain Christian and traditional Cheyenne and Arapaho religious elements. These funeral services are critiqued by practitioners of Christianity and traditional Cheyenne and Arapaho religions. Through two non-threatening questionnaires Eastridge Baptist Church evaluated its Sunday morning worship service.  The study benefited the congregation by revealing needed adjustments to details of its worship practice and by serving as a vehicle for the congregation and its new pastor to become better and more rapidly acquainted.
